10>> My experience with English and blogs

I have never written in English before University (just for school when I was a child and I had never thought that was something important) and I think blogs helped me a lot to improve this point; right now I feel surer of my writing skills, although I have so much to do to keep learning how to write well in English. But I thought my English' classes would help me with better communication when I have to talk about anthropology or archeology and I'm not sure if that actually happened; I feel like my English classes just teach me some little things, but I still don't know how to talk about my career with someone else in English. I don't have an idea to solve this problem and it isn't something really important right now, so I won't do anything until I really need to communicate with someone else in English.

For me, it is weird to talk in English. I actually read some texts and listen to a lot of music in English (even though not for my classes), but I'm very shy when I have to talk; I just don't feel comfortable about it and I start to mispronounce the words and get blocked. I wouldn't say, my classes helped me to improve this another point, but I think I realize that talk in English is actually very complicated and, especially give my opinion, is harder than I thought. Talk (or read, but I am not talking about this right now) is more important for me than write, so it is something that I wanna fix and improve in the future.

9>> change anthropology program

Anthropology nowadays is already in a changing process, which started around the time my generation started studying. This fact makes me feel satisfied with the current curriculum for the career; besides, I don't feel I'm in conditions to suggest anything related with a matter this relevant, or at least not quite yet.

Regarding workload, my opinion is now the same: subjects show an abysmal difference in terms of workload, some of them demanding way too much time due to long texts that require more time to be read, others make you research for details and additional information than the rest and, finally, there are subjects in which you don't need to make a big effort to approve, more than just attend regularly to class. This, for me, is a negative trait, as it makes you focus on specific topics, leaving the rest aside or making you pay less attention to them because you need to put all of your effort on the most demanding ones. This is not fair, as all of us want to learn and understand all of our subjects evenly.

About the physical environment, I think the campus is lacking nature, there are not enough green spaces and grass and places to spend our free time on, breaks become dull because of the little room we have to rest. However, I love the artistic expressions you can see everywhere you go, it makes the place less monotonous.

Libraries and classrooms are another point to consider, as they are small and feel even smaller with the number of students that transit the faculty on a daily basis. This can also be seen on the cafeteria, a place that doesn't have enough room to contain everyone, despite lunch is an essential meal.

And last but not least, some professors are in need of more educational formation. We know that not all of them are teachers per sé, it's completely understandable, yet this fact makes an important difference during classes, as their traits and/or way to approach contents, tests and evaluations are lacking elements that pedagogues do include in their methodology.

8>> Personal Opinions

What is your opinion about recycling?
I like the idea of reuseing some products. In my house we recycle everything, since clothes to rotten food. We try to use all our stuffs until they cannot be use anymore and if we don't want something and it's in good conditions, my mom give it to differents places as Cruz Roja, nursing homes or some friends and familiars. (It is a little funny that my mom like to recycle, she was how start with this at home, because I have a small family -one aunt, one uncle, three cousins- and when they don't want something, the stuffs always come to my house). Reuseing and recycling is something normal for me and I really like the idea of give them new uses to the things.

What is your opinion about the Chilean tradition called "mechoneo"?
I hate it, with all my soul. I think the idea of give a welcome to people who are starting a new moment of their life it's a good idea, I mean, it's good if someone how already passed for that can help other people if they are having rough times; this moment can help you to create friendly ties with other people. But, notwithstanding the above I don't like the violence of this 'tradition'; it's become in a punishment rather than in something good.

What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana and other drugs?
I don't have problems with that. I don't consumption marijuana, or another ilegal drugs, but I don't see it as something bad; we can smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol known that could be bad, why we couldn't smoke marijuana?. For me the problems is that some of the people who do that don't know what they are doing and choose bad choices; lack of education about it (as much as lack education about sex, or abortion).

What is your opinion about tatoos?
I really like them, I like how the body looks with tatoos. We have the power of decide what we like or not in our body (and I am talking about clothes, piercings, tatoos, hair colors and another things) and I have to respect if someone have a tatoo or not; it's not a reason to discriminate someone.

7>> CSI Crime Scene Investigation

Left to righ: CSI Crime Scene Investigation (Las Vegas), CSI NY and CSI Miami

I started to watch the three different Tv shows of CSI a time ago (exist another CSI whos call CSI Cyber, but I have never seen it so I will not talk about it), because my mom studied something similar to what they do so she liked to watch it; and as you can actually deduce, I started to love it.

When I was twelve years old I loved these Tv shows so much that I wanted to get into PDI -it was the closest I found on Chile- to be like them; of course later I thought again my decision and I reconsidered.

My favorite of these three kinds of CSI is CSI Crime Scene Investigation. The history happens in Las Vegas and I think it is the most real, or the less fake, of the three. It is true that any of them aren't 100% real, the procedures don't happen like that, the allocation either and of course people who work on that it is not so cool as the people on the tv show, but for me, CSI Las Vegas is the most "real".

CSI Crime Scene Investigation

Lately, I don't watch Tv and I don't have time to watch series -because I have to study-, I just watch CSI, Law and Order: UVE and Caso Cerrado. That's because I can watch them when I come back for my classes, but also because I like the detective atmosphere; I like try to think like a detective and solve the cases. For the moment I don't want to watch any other series or tv show, I just wanna pass my subjects and relax.
